KCEC, Town of Taos and Taos County Update 04/23/2022

Smoke continues to haze throughout the Town of Taos, Taos County, and KCEC’s service territory. Wildfires continue to burn in New Mexico. KCEC is working with the Town of Taos and Taos County governments to address the safety of our community members. High winds are expected this morning at 10:00 am.

Currently, KCEC has no power outages.KCEC turned off the power from Rock Wall to Tres Ritos, in conjunction with the Carson National Forest Service, for the safety precautions in the area.

Note: If you see a downed power line, please call KCEC dispatch at (575)-758-6100. Please don’t touch or encounter the downed lines. 

You may also use Taos County’s mass notification system in place to notify our constituents of emergencies in our communities and to share information on evacuations, shelter etc.  Constituents can sign up for this free alert system.  You can download the AlertMe – Regroup App on android devices at the Google Play Store and Apple devices at the App Store and follow the instructions at the bottom of the home page of www.taoscounty.org.
