Let’s Celebrate Earth Day Together! KCEC invites you to the groundbreaking ceremony for the Amalia II Solar & Battery Facility. This project, in partnership with the Rio Costilla Cooperative Livestock Association, will feature an 8.75 MW solar array and 8.75 MW / 17.5 MWh of battery storage.
Amalia I began commercial operations in May 2012, providing 1.25 MW of solar power generation. The Amalia II facility will be the second-largest solar installation, expanding KCEC’s local solar power generation capacity to approximately 50 MW.
KCEC will host the solar groundbreaking ceremony next to the Amalia I Solar Array, located at 195 Ventero Rd, Amalia, NM 87512. The ceremony will begin at 11 AM, so please allow sufficient time for travel. Following the event, refreshments and food will be provided at the RCCLA main office, located at 72 State Road 196, Costilla, New Mexico 87524.
