Members Helping Members
The member Helping Members Program (MHMP) started in 2008 to assist Low-Income members in our service territory by paying their electric bill.Click Here for more information.
Members Helping Members is a Once in a lifetime assistance program. If you have qualified in the past, you are not eligible to apply for members helping members assistance.
To apply for assistance, an application must be completed along with a picture ID of the person applying, Name, DOB, SSN and proof of income for ALL members of the household. And/or a copy of a resident alien card for each non-citizen resident if applicable.
If you havent applied for the Members Helping Members program It is a community service program created to receive voluntary contributions from participating members. From 2008 through 2010 Kit Carson Electric assisted 172 members. To date, the amount of assistance totals about $25,850.

Affordable Connectivity Program
The Affordable Connectivity Program is an FCC benefit program that helps ensure that households can afford the broadband they need for work, school, healthcare and more. The benefit provides a discount of up to $30 per month toward internet service package for eligible households and up to $75 per month for households on qualifying Tribal lands.

Lifeline Program
Kit Carson Internet is a participating service provider for the Lifeline Program. Lifeline is a federal program dedicated to making phone and internet service more affordable for low-income households. Please go to checklifeline.org to apply.
Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
LIHEAP assists eligible persons and families with their heating and cooling costs. Applications can be filed at your local Human Services Department Office.
