Valued Members,
Kit Carson Internet is aware of the internet outage that occurred yesterday at approximately 2:00 p.m. affecting approximately 460 customers. Customers who reside in Amalia, Costilla, Cerro, El Rito north and the north end of Questa are affected. Kit Carson Internet is repairing/replacing two sections of fiber due to either a gun shot, electrical contact or heavy winds which may have caused the fiber to start to move up and down in close proximity to electric line. The cause and the failure is still under investigation and a full report will be given to our members when investigation is complete. Kit Carson Internet crews and contractors are currently working on replacing the damaged fiber optic cable. Internet service should be restored at approximately 10:00 p.m. We apologize for the inconvenience.
On July 27, 2018 at about noon we started to repair a fiber line that affected the same customers due to fiber cable that was damaged by a gun shot. Our crews will work diligently to restore service in these areas as quickly as
possible. Again, we apologize for the inconvenience.
