KCEC encourages community members and businesses to attend the 1st Northern NM Cybersecurity Council Meeting. KCEC wants to develop enduring partnerships between private industry and public sector organizations to ensure that critical infrastructure and sensitive information are protected, develop a cybersecurity workforce to protect technology resources from increasing threats, and develop strategies and solutions to ensure that our northern rural communities continue to lead in areas of cybersecurity. We encourage everyone interested to attend. The group objectives are
- We are creating a cybersecurity community to share ideas and problem-solving solutions that rural institutions face.
- We are establishing the criteria and priorities for addressing cybersecurity threats.
- Assessing the knowledge, skills, and capabilities of the existing information technology and cybersecurity workforce to mitigate and respond to cyber threats and develop recommendations for addressing immediate workforce deficiencies and a long-term pool of qualified applicants
- We are creating an environment for learning and teaching opportunities for those interested in cybersecurity certificates, programs and careers.
