KCEC crews and contractors are still working to replace the 69 kV transmission, distribution and internet pole throughout the day. Crews have placed the new metal pole and are transferring the distribution wires from the existing pole. Transferring existing infrastructure onto the new metal pole requires large amounts of safety and is very labor intensive.
Once completed with the distribution side of the system, the crews will restore power to the 25-30 members affected on St Rd 240 and Cullebra Rd.
At approximately 2:00 p.m., crews will start working on the transmission system affecting Penasco and surrounding areas. The outage is planned to be around four hours.
Multiple crews are working on the outage and using the highest safety protocols. There have been challenging construction variables for the pole replacement project.
