Job Description

As a Customer Service Representative for Kit Carson Propane, you will act as a liaison, provide information, answer questions, and resolve any emerging problems that our customer accounts might face with accuracy and efficiency.

What You’ll Do:

  • Providing introductory information to new customers.
  • Ensure customers are satisfied with products or services.
  • Following up with customers to check that they’re still satisfied with service.
  • Let customers or clients know about additional products or services.
  • Determining the quickest, most effective ways to answer a customer’s questions.
  • Escalating queries and concerns.
  • Troubleshooting common issues.
  • Process and post payments to customer accounts.
  • Daily reconciliation of cash receipts.
  • Filling and requalify outdated propane cylinders.
  • Must have or gain appropriate knowledge of information required during the propane application process.
  • Must be able to take propane orders and determine propane order needs based on the size and percentage of the tanks.
  • Must learn the various types of accounts (Will Call, Auto-Fill, Metered Accounts) and payments needed.
  • Must be able to calculate and prepare yearly budgets for budget customers and know which types of customers are or are not eligible for the budget program.
  • Filing and typing duties.
  • Answering phone calls and relaying messages in a timely manner
  • Other duties as needed.

What you bring:

  • Must have or obtain an LP09 Classification within 90 days of employment for filling various sizes of propane cylinders up to 100 # cylinders.
  • Interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Multitasking and organizational skills.
  • Ability to answer a high volume of calls and/or emails daily.
  • Ability to share work among a customer service team.
  • Attentiveness and patience
  • Time-management skills.
  • Ability to find the positive in any situation.
  • Cashiering experience (preferred)
  • Bottle/Cylinder filling experience (preferred)
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) (preferred).
